Painting, Demokratieskulptur, and public discourse
Centered on the ongoing body of work Sesselwahn and the public art project Volksbegehren des Geistes.

Unfinished Form
Using dried oil on aged paper, I develop reduced forms that oscillate between image, sign and fragment. The surface remains matte, dry and deliberately fragile.

Psychic Object
My works seek maximum tension through minimal means. Reduction is not simplification, but a concentration of form, gesture and meaning.

Instability and Reduction
The painting process is spontaneous and direct. Through automatic movement, signs, figures and structures emerge between control and dissolution.

About the artist
Zino Weinstein is a Vienna-based artist whose practice is centered on painting, most notably in the ongoing series Sesselwahn. His work explores instability, imperfection and unfinished form through reduced, dysfunctional structures.
